For over four years Calvary Commission has been involved in
missions work in Africa. In June of 2008 we will bring an outreach team for the
first time to the country of Zambia, located in the South-Central part of the
continent. We will be working in partnership with the
Church on the Rock and
Zambian Vocal Music Academy.
During this exciting time of ministry our team will reach out to the people of
Kalingalinga & Mtendere through public meetings, personal evangelism, ministry to
orphans & more. There will also be an opportunity to visit the majestic Victoria
Falls.
Fact about Zambia:
- About 11 million People
- Half the population is under the age of 16
- Over 1 million orphans from A.I.D.S. and other diseases
- 72 different tribes and languages; English being the official language
- Was a British colony until 1964
- Was declared a Christian nation in 1990
- Has 9 different provinces
Important Information:
- Passport required

- Must be 16 years of age, under 18 must have a parental consent form filled out by parents.
- Guest workers will be staying in a resort.
- We will work in partnership with Church on the Rock & Zambian Vocal Music Academy
- Most meals will be cooked by out team at the resort, however there will be
opportunities to eat authentic African dishes.
- Bottled water will be available at local stores.
- You will need about $150-$200 for spending money.
- There is an ongoing need for: dental hygiene products, children's medicines, small toys (coloring books, crayons, play dough and soccer balls are a good idea).
Cost: - $1,800 for flight (price subject to change based on airline fuel cost).
- $700 for housing, meals, transportation, etc.
Payment Schedule:- Deposit: $250 due with submission of application
- Flight: Approximately $1,800 due April 29th
- Balance: $450 due June 9th
How to apply: We will need you to ask
for an application and pastoral reference forms. We will provide a Calvary
Commission representative to talk with you about the outreach giving details and
answering your questions.
